Another shot of my Canoe trip through South Carolina's Congaree National Park. The trees found in this old growth forest have adapted to the unique conditions of a flood plain, which provides shade for the river's calm, black water. This picture was taken 100 yards before a hawk stalked a mother Wood Duck and her ducklings wading down the river.
