Lest we forget the sometimes chillier meadows which reside in the higher elevations bordering the canyon rims.

In this particular band of forest, colors have already begun to change and the atmosphere broods deceptively; I didn't realize the stark reds and desert landscape of the Grand Canyon itself were so close nearby.
