Beautiful forrest i have been around quite a lot of the coast of Vancouver Island . Winds off the Pacific blow moist air through the forrest enable the surface of the trees to grow all sorts of lichen making it feel very damp.

Yes, it is a very unique area with all the moisture promoting such growth and complexity. Last summer (2017) when this was taken was the driest I’d ever seen on the west coast of Vancouver Island
