Yeah that's a tourist attraction re-built section of the western end of the Great Wall of China. " During the Ming Dynasty this was the limit of Chinese Civilization - to the west of here were all the savages and barbarians (still is..LOL). Most of the Great Wall was built with mud bricks out here in the middle of "Heavenly Pass" which has long crumbled into piles of dirt. Jiayuguan" translates to "farthest gate". It's a couple days' train ride from Xi'an and Beijing to get here. I've been there and done that.
