Really nice work on the exposure. As someone else said, we all love rainbows, but getting it right takes practice. This set is right.

So, to set a scene.....

I've had 3 weeks off work and have to put it (very) mildy been hacked off off with the weather, a trip to Skye totally abandoned due to a large storm, quickly changed to the Dorset coast after a weather check, lasted a day there before my tent got washed away in a biblical downpour from nowhere and was to last 3 days, came home 6 days early, tried Anglesey (looked ok!).... again lasted one night, same thing happened.... pretty downtrodden I though right OK I'll go to Belgium, and shoot buildings around Bruges, ah no you can't as the majority of the population of Africa is now in Calais playing hell with the trains, which forced all the flight prices through the roof. Great. Eventually settled on a week in Norfolk as there was loads of coast stuff I'd never done there, only to find that the projected forecast was again totally wrong, first day there it lashed down yet again, grabbing shots inbetween showers here and there but generally getting nothing decent.

As the day pressed on there was some signs of life, dry spells and some stupidly big clouds, not enough dryness for long exposures but chances for grab shots inbetween showers

It got to 7pm and nothing was biting..... I was looking for rainbows which I was sure would appear, had seen 2 but they hadn't been worth shooting (very faint), giving up stopped to eat in a pub for an hour before carrying on the 15 mins to base.

Fed and watered left to drive the final 15 mins, a road was closed so a 10 min diversion was needed, cheers, within 5 mins the light changed and just went totally beserk! massive black skies with all the corn fields almost on fire with crazy light, still, there was nothing to shoot though as nowhere decent to stop, literally 2 mins drive from the destination, in pouring rain, this massive rainbow just kicked off big time! (AT LAST!) I was completely flapping in the car by this point as I knew it was a good one and wouldn't last, just needed a vantage point over all the huge hedges each side of the road...a left turn presented itself as if by magic.... turned down virtually on 2 wheels to be faced with a wide open corn/wheat field filled with poppies, abandoned the car, jumped over a huge ditch and legged it into the middle of the soaking wet field.

The Summer rain that had served to annoy me so much over 3 weeks, certainly made amends this evening. A few moments later it had gone, faded into nothing..

Amusingly just as I was trying to leap over the (quite large) ditch in a complete flap before it dissapeared, a cyclist stopped and asked me where he was 'no idea mate I'm from Wigan' as I ran off into the middle of a field, Must have been a strange moment for him....
