Many people would be disappointed to have rainy days while visiting Florida but I couldn't have been happier. We had almost three full days of rain and the Burrowing Owls put on quite a show! However....too much rain in the spring can mean problems for the owls if burrows get flooded and the owlets are not old enough to fly and wait things out. There was an adult pair and 6 owlets at this particular burrow and luckily all the owlets were far advanced in their development. This photo is the adult male and he's one of my favorite adults I've ever photographed.
