A60 or Fife is one of the largest males in the Northern Resident killer whale population. Born in 1992, he was hit by a vessel in 2003 which completely sliced open his back behind his dorsal fin. Thankfully the injury fully healed, however the scars will always act as a reminder. This photo shows him headed towards the Robson Bight reserve with the rest of the A23 pod (minus A16 Corky, who was captured in 1969 and has spent 50 years in captivity).
