I found another friend wiling to give me some time to work on my people photographing skills. She was super patient while I tried some lighting experiments. This shot occurred around 8:00 am in the mountains above Salt Lake City, Utah. I purposely underexposed the overall frame and used an off camera flash to highlight Sam and a second light to bring in a few details of the wild rose bush behind her.
