Met another professional travel photographer at Milford Sound that taught me a lot. We woke up at our hostel while it was still dark, and would check to see the clouds in the sky. Milford Sound can be temperamental with the amount of rainfall it sees. So we didn't want an overcast sky, but we wanted enough clouds to reflect the suns light as it rises. We were fortunate when we got to our location before the sun was up we slowly watched the clouds up above the mountains set in and watched as the low hanging clouds formed around Mitre Peak. The sky then began to light up with color.
