It took four hours of hiking to reach this location, deep in the Indian Peaks Wilderness in Colorado, and five more hours of hiking in the dark to get back to my car. Even though this photo was taken in August, the temperature at sunset was about 40 degrees Fahrenheit, requiring snow pants and a winter jacket. Despite the lack of sleep it was well worth it to see this sunset.
