My Sony A7R2 malfunctioned during our trip to Oregon. In the middle of a shoot, the Center button of the wheel, as well as the left and top sides of the wheel all decided that they were 'play' buttons. This meant I couldn't even make a selection from the menu (including restore to factory settings). I was crushed. I only had the camera for about 6 months when this happened. Seeing me despondent (read full photo tantrum), My friend researched forums to look for a solution. One forum suggested taking the battery out and leaving the camera switched on to discharge the camera. I tried it and after a few minutes it worked...but only for about ten seconds. ???? I did the same thing again but left the camera batteryless and switched on for a few days. No change. On my way home I accidentally left the camera turned on with the battery in it. But, after this happy accident I was able to use the Center button and reset to factory settings. It seems to be working again! This shot was taken on my backup camera. My trusty Sony A7s ❤️
