What an amazing capture. You took the shot while the feathers ‘were hanging loose’ for him to get his preening apparatus in between. One more thing I want to give you credit for...you didn’t over-sharpen the feathers. Many photographers would have been tempted to do that. You even left the slightly blown-out bits beneath his chin alone. Well done!
