I have been to this spot many times as it can provide many different results. On this morning I had to walk in through the bush for about 500 meters and then out to the flats in the dark, knee deep water and very thick fog. It was a stinking hot night and the dawn was shrouded in cloud and fog, which i new meant heavy rain was not far away. Just as the sun came over the horizon the 100% cloud cover lifted up to allow this sliver of pale dawn to peek through. I got a few decent shots that morning but this is my favourite

Great shot, has to be a Lonely Tree finalist! Has oil painting qualities, well cropped - the composition keeps my eye on the sunset to tree back to sunset
