Did you have to mount the camera on a tripod? What did project that wide streak of purple light?

I did use a tripod for a long exposure (15 sec). The color of the lights varied as it was generated by the individual double-decked bus in London. I had to stand beside the bridge path taking many shots. Glad you had an interest in this photo.
