Several years ago I became fascinated with the follies and showgirl images of the 1920's, and I set out to create my modern day vision of this era. It is more of a challenge than I anticipated but it is time to share from this archive, and hopefully finish my dream of a coffee-table book soon.

My model is a professional classical dancer and was able to perform this move multiple times. I intentionally selected poses with some variation, because in those days of the follies, the dancers were not as precise as the Rockettes. Since everything had to be cut out, I went ahead and used a theater curtain from the Arts Center stage in Toledo, and a much altered floor from a century old church. You can't have everything in your home studio... where the model performed.
