I have been working on "seeing" in black and white, and It has been challenging for me. Contrasting colors is not the issue, but creating a quiet background that makes that contrast pop can be rough. This icicle was hanging in the middle of a very busy bush but I set the camera at f/10, stepped back about 4-5 feet and zoomed to focal length of 120. This helped put a little bit more of the icicle in focus but gave a bokeh background,
