Exploring a bit as I like to do in Montana, I took some side roads for a few hours off of the interstate and found this scene, it reminded me of an Ansel Adams, although I would never utter my name in the same sentence as his, I just used it as inspiration and captured this shot.

Driving North i guess, it's going South here. Top shot with leading lines to the wonderful snow covered mountains. Great composition and monochrome highlights the light on the snow. Wonderful and well caught even there will never be another Adams :-)

Thank you Patrick, I appreciate it. This was give or take an hour off of 90 to the North of Big Timber, MT. I tired to mind the zone system here like AA would, but of course didn't put half as much time into thinking this shot out that he probably would have. At any rate, it was a beautiful range, nice clouds above it, it's just another reason why MT is my favorite state. Thanks again!

The first time I saw real mountains (I'm from Pennsylvania) was driving to Glacier National Park from the east - It looked similar to this, I barely put the car in park to jump out and take pictures. Its unlike any feeling Ive ever had. This picture captures that feeling beautifully..

Thanks! This is on the way to Glacier for sure, and I had the same feeling you did when I (or anyone) reaches a certain point on Route 90, and you're at the feet of these splendid mountains, the entire range. A magical place.

Great composition. I had to take a really close look as it is so like the New Zealand South Island high country.

Thank you! Totally agree. When I was out there I intended for this to be B&W, though I shot it in color.

B&W really does this scene justice!

Thanks again RDV, Totally, I think color would have distracted the viewer unecessarily, but as I said above, I totally intended for this to be B&W from the moment I set up the camera.
