The camera was a "Point and Shoot" Nikon E8800, which has a built in 10X zoom lens. This camera is one of the few in it's category capable of shooting a 'raw' format image.

Yes. This Nikon camera was an attempt to compete with low end DSLRs. It has slightly larger sensor than most 'bridge' cameras and it would also shoot Raw format. The iso range is 50-400.

Wow - very peaceful looking image of a raptor. We had one in our California backyard recently but it wasn't nearly this tall. Love his expression. Awesome capture.

This is a fantastic capture of an Accipiter.
However, this is a Juvenile Sharp-shined Hawk.
Small head, fully round crown, and a nape that is the same color as the head and back. Eye at CL of head.
