On the first day of Spring I went out exploring and photographing lupine. Thunderstorms were lurking and blocking the light except for this split second where the sun poked through the clouds. It was fortunate that I already had my 16-35 lens set at f16 which produced this gorgeous flare. The moment was so fleeting I didn't have time to adjust to the conditions. Sometimes the best we can do is put ourselves in a situation and wait for a little luck.
