On the first night of my 7 day trip to Iceland, the aurora came out to play across the lower foothills of the Vatnajokull National Park.
This image is made up from a total of 7 individual images which have been stitched together to show the aurora arc which we witnessed from the outskirts of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
The show lasted for well over an hour and was a fantastic greeting and sign of what lay ahead for the rest of the trip.
