This formation is part of White Pocket, a remote and amazing area near the border of Arizona and Utah. It's near the Wave, but much more difficult to access and lesser known. Like the Wave, White Pocket is a Navajo Sandstone formation formed millions of years ago and eroded and shaped by the elements. Unlike the Wave, White Pocket defies explanation. No one is quite sure how these formations were made, and why they're so chaotic. It's a photographer's dream, if your dream includes endless possibilities, colors, shapes and solitude. Quiet. Peace.
