The satisfaction of this shot can not be put into words! It was a last minute decision to drive from Wellington to Mt Taranaki and stay the night on the mountain. Heaving my bag up the 2 hour climb with my camera gear and some clothes I made it about 2 hours before sunset. To my disappointment the mountain was completely covered in cloud even though the weather said zero cloud and I had started the hike with a clear view of the mountain from the ground. As it neared sunset, the clouds slowly disappeared to reveal the mighty mountain and I stood in awe because it's always down to luck to get a clear sky here. Everything went right for a second attempt!
