This is my favourite image from the trip...
I woke up at 4 and drove for about an hour to get to this amazing location... I've visited it before, but i could not get a different shot from the ones that you may find in the internet (for those who do not know this, this spot is probably the most photographed spot in all Tuscany, between Pienza and San quirico d'orcia)
I was at the spot, and the sun started to rise... At that moment I saw the fog, this time at the foreground of the frame as well. However, from the iconic spot where this little house is always photographed, it still wasn't a unique shot.
I decided to sacrifice the iconic shot with some fog mixed with good details of the hills and started running from there into a private property at my right... I knew that if I was able to change the angle of the sun hitting the fog, then i would have a much more abstract perception of the hills. But i've never been to these lands before and to be honest i had no idea if there was going to be any panoramic view from the place i was running to...
The sun was rising and the light was getting better and better, i could have stopped and get a very nice shot but in my mind i already had the frame i wanted and i wouldn't take even 1 shot apart from that one. I ran for almost 1 mile until i got to an open spot and the scene was perfect... I quickly set the tripod and made two shots to build the pano shot. After a couple of minutes, the sun was too strong and the scene disappeared forever.
