I have been planning this shot for over year. I love the iconic Mesa Arch and thought it would be amazing to shoot this national landmark with the Milky Way over the arch. Ryan Plakonouris helped me utilized low level lighting from both sides and a third light under the arch and then we waited for the perfect moment when the Milky Way approximated the gentle curve of Mesa Arch. This moment occurred around 3 am last night and I was in awe as I captured this beautiful scene.
