While on my trip on the Hana Highway, I found my new favorite tree. It has got to be the Eucalyptus deglupta, commonly known as the rainbow eucalyptus. It has a unique multi-hued bark which is the most distinctive feature of the tree. The patches of outer bark are shed annually at different times, showing a bright green inner bark. This then darkens and matures to give blue, purple, orange and then maroon tones. I could not admiring the beauty these amazing trees.
