I titled this as huge and miniature because the Philippine Eagle is really huge and the mosquito that I captured in this photo which I did not know until I uploaded the photo is really so tiny.
By the way Monkey Eating Eagle is the Philippine emblem of the nation but critically endangered because of the loss of habitat due to deforestation (Legal is the biggest one, and the illegal.
Size: 90-100 cm (35.4-39.3 inches)
Distribution: Philippines, mainly Mindanao
Habitat: Undisturbed primary Forest, mainly mountains
Classification: One of the 242 species in the family Accipitridae, and the sole member of the Genus Pithecophaga
Population & Conservations Status: Estimated at 350-670 individuals. CRITICALLY ENDANGERED.
Breeding System: Monogamous
Nest & eggs: Huge platform of sticks, placed high in tall tree. One occasionally two eggs.
Incubation & Fledging: 60-64 days, 14-24 weeks
