This is Great Philippine Eagle. The largest of the extant eagle in the world. One of the rarest and most powerful bird in the world. It is the national bird in the Philippines can be found particularly in Malagos, Calinan, Davao City, Philippines.This bird is listed as"critically endangered" In the International Union for Conservation of Nature because of the massive loss of habitat due to deforestation.
Size: 90-100 cm (35.4-39.3 inches)
Distribution: Philippines, mainly Mindanao
Habitat: Undisturbed primary Forest, mainly mountains
Classification: One of the 242 species in the family Accipitridae, and the sole member of the Genus Pithecophaga
Population & Conservations Status: Estimated at 350-670 individuals. CRITICALLY ENDANGERED.
Breeding System: Monogamous
Nest & eggs: Huge platform of sticks, placed high in tall tree. One occasionally two eggs.
Incubation & Fledging: 60-64 days, 14-24 weeks
