Just as the sun rose above the horizon, it casted warm light on Mt. Rainier. I wanted to capture the scene before direct sunlight reached the lake area, so I used multiple exposures to obtain the subtle foreground details I envisioned for the image.

Mt. Rainier is dormant volcano located in the Cascade mountain range.
