Nice shot, Duffy. I particularly like the color of the church's wood planking and texture. Great find.

Thanks Uncle! Yeah we got just a peek of sun for this one, whereas most of the afternoon was a little too hazy. I appreciate your thoughts...

The wide angle perspective and warm colors are great! I love Bodie, but getting a shot without clutter and people is sometimes a tough job. Well done!

i am always amazed how even a slight chance in lighting effects a photo; great job!

What's that saying, "Even a blind pig finds a truffle occasionally?" That's me I guess...! :))

Love the angled presentation where everything is centered toward the middle of the composition. Well done.

Outstanding Duffy. I haven't been there in many years but am heading back to Bodie in September.

Thank you. It was on my bucket list for years, and didn't disappoint. I wish it was open later. I can only imagine the images that might be available in the deep "blue hour," or on a brightly moon lit night!

LOVE this photo, Duffy! For many years we took our children to Mammoth Lakes for our summer vacation, and a trip out to Bodie was always the highlight. Going back one more time is on MY bucket list!

Thank you Grammy! There is so much to explore in this area. I look forward to the day when we can simply park the RV in the Alabama Hills, and take it all in organically... Cheers!

I'm amazed you were able to get this with no people in it. I've been to Bodie numerous times and RARELY to do I ever find a shot sans people. Love the perspective, color, and composition of this shot.

People with their modern dress would have expressed a very different meme. I guess I was lucky...or patient! Thanks for your comments! :))

Hi Duffy, I didn't realize this was your image of the iconic Bodie Church. I had entered my version in a photo contest in one of the Photo clubs I'm in , and they said it was beautiful but nothing special or different. You my friend have definitely given this church a new perspective!!!! KUDOS to all your wins!

That's awful nice of you, thank you! This image seems to resonate with people. Bodie was on my bucket list for so long... Maybe some of my delight came through, some of my awe of it... I don't know. I appreciate your kind words...

Thank you Heidi! It is surreal standing there in that empty place...

Thank you Rick. It had been a little overcast, lucky for me just a touch of warmth broke through just before sundown. Thank you for your kind words!
