man you were lucky (or did you plan it like that) the milky way was on that perfect spot. also you used the foreground really eyecharming and the composition itself looks very smooth.

luck was not involved in taking this shot. Planning, creativity, and skill were all involved. In order to have captured this shot, Mr. Marshall must have done a bit of research as to when the milky way would be visable and the weather clear, not to mention finding his perfect frame.
I love how you brought out the blues in the moon/starlight on the ground. It leads my eye down the photograph to discover the beautiful texture of the rock, allowing me to appreciate both the amazing sky and the beautiful ground. Im not sure if my words express it right, but this is an icredible shot.

This is a blend of 2 photos one about an hour after sunset for the foreground and the stars about an hour later when it aligned with the formation.
