On September 15th, 1773, the Hector landed at Brown's Point in Pictou harbour with 189 pengers aboard. These thirty-three families and twenty-five single men began the first Scottish settlement in Nova Scotia and what is now the town of Pictou. Thereafter many other Scots followed the people of the Hector to New Scotland.

Oooh, a story!
I like stories.
I also like the shot, like two main focal points, but the majesty of the ship swamps the stoutness of the house. A story in itself.

What a lovely capture, I believe she's undergoing a major refit at the moment. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to cross the Atlantic in that tiny ship.
