Urban Street Photography. It is not surprising that this street of Holyhead appears so empty and desolate even though it is the main port road that links the Breakwater Park and Holyhead Mountain with the rest of Anglesey. Beneath the grandeur and much admired shadow of the Curved bridge that links the High Street to the Port and Railway , this lower level has become shabby and mainly abandoned , a portrait of the long lost hey day of the Shopping Centre , as each of the abandoned buildings once housed some of the most iconic names , including Woolworths . Using crossing leading lines the image was constructed with geometric design to create a feeling of stark juxtaposition between the old and the new , the flying high and the brought down low. The contrast of the two sides of the scene and the stark emptiness of the street that cuts between were made more vivid by changing the original image from colour to black and white. City Life
