I took this photo in Western Oregon in an area that has unfortunately been recently ravaged by wildfires. I saw this section of the river through the trees as I was driving home form work in Eastern Oregon and new I had to pull over and explore a little bit. The way the golden light from the setting sun reflected off the water is what really drew me in to this shot and inspired me to take it. While I was taking a shot of the main river, this beautiful little creek caught my eye on the other side of the river from where I was. To take the shot, I had to wade out across the main river through nearly waist deep, fast moving water (no slipping allowed!), set up my tripod. I very nearly got my phone and wallet soaked in the process of crossing the river (whoops). I think the dark mossy alcove that this creek was flowing through was particularly beautiful and I love the way the rocks frame the water.
