I took this photo of the Yosemite Falls in Yosemite National Park, California. The perspective capturing both the upper and lower falls in one view made the scene especially unique and impressive. The contrasting images of the majestic waterfall and mountains, the trees in the foreground, and the blue sky above contributed to the overall aesthetic effect. My photographic choices often have social or political implications, and I like to think that photos like this one advocate support for conservation efforts to protect our national parks, especially now, under threats from the current U.S. president and his political administration to open up protected land preserves for economic exploitation.
