I took this photo of Bridalveil falls from the tunnel overlook in Yosemite National Park, California. This scene has been photographed millions of times, but that's because it's such an iconic image, and I couldn't resist taking at least one more. I was impressed particularly by the majestic perspective as well as the vivid color contrasts at this magical moment when the sun was setting over the valley. My photographic choices often have social or political implications, and I like to think that photos like this one advocate support for conservation efforts to protect our national parks, especially now, under threats from our current president and his political administration to open up protected land preserves for economic exploitation.

I love our national park system. I wish you had entered this in my Yosemite challenge which ended last week. My Arizona challenge is going to end in just over one hour, in case you want to look it up and enter a photo that fits the theme.

Don't know how I missed your Yosemite challenge last week and I don't have a photo to submit for your Arizona challenge, but thanks for the notification. Yosemite and the other national parks are a treasure for photographers and of course for everyone who visits as well as all the wildlife that depend on them.
