A picnic table sits on one of the old gun placement sites over looking Resurrection Bay, near Seward Alaska. Fort McGilvray was a World War II installation that overlooked the entrance to Resurrection Bay. It was placed to protect Alaska in case of invasion. Today. the abandoned fort can be reached and explored by hiking up a couple of miles from the beach.
