These rocks are comprised of minerals containing several species of silicates which have unique fluorescence characteristics when illuminated by short and long wavelength ultra violet light. The images are a collage of the rocks' optical response to natural and UV light, as a single exposure could not capture the range of colors visible across various UV illuminations.
