(Oenanthe oenanthe - female) A small mainly ground-dwelling bird. It hops or runs on the ground. It is a summer visitor to the UK and passage migrant. They breed mainly in western and northern Britain, though smaller numbers do breed in southern and eastern England. It winters in central Africa. This one was seen at Holme Dunes NWT Nature Reserve in Norfolk (the east of the UK). It perched on a fencing post only a few feet away allowing me to get very clear images with very effective bokeh.
