Photo of a red-tailed hawk taken in our backyard located in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains near Coarsegold, California. The photo was actually taken through the living room window, and the hawk just noticed that someone was taking his picture inside. Like most species, the numbers of these beautiful birds are declining due to climate change and decreasing natural habitat. In the future, photos like this may be all we have to remind us of these magnificent raptors.
