"The main thing I saw here is participants getting excited by the macro lens which is fantastic to see but not to get caught up in the unique effect. It's very important to remember composition, and to look for the subtle moments which adds to the story of the image whether it be capturing an action or characteristic of the subject. Basically I was looking for that extra element to the image to give me more than just a macro view." - guest judge Krystle Wright

Congratulations Grand Jury Winner "Contemplation" by robbyticknor

"Congrats on capturing a striking portrait of the insect. The subject is beautifully lit up as the tones work well together through the overall composition which complement the subject's pose and small action. It's as if it were sitting for the portrait. This portrait stood out above the rest as it brings together all the elements whilst keeping it beautifully simple through the composition." - Krystle Wright

Congratulations Runner Up "Dragonfly UR2A2404-2" by frankosphotography

"Striking colors though the key thing in this image was the use of depths, layers and dimensions. Its important to not over complicate an image as the trick is finding organized chaos and here through the different blades of leaves adds an extra element to the image. " - Krystle Wright

Congratulations Runner Up "Jumping Spider - DSC_8101" by Rene-Mayorga-V

"The textures in this image is amazing! The use of macro has been well executed in showing the viewer something the eye would not normally see. Great capture with the focus and letting the background blur into dark tones which help accentuate the subject and flower's rich subtle tones." - Krystle Wright

Congratulations Runner Up "Milkweed Beetle" by JohnVS

"A great innocent moment caught. The simplistic colors and composition really jump out at me immediately and draw me in. Well done to the photographer in capturing a beautiful image that shows me a fun playful moment with the Milkweed Beetle. " - Krystle Wright
