Thank you to all the photographers that shared their best wedding action shots in the Lights, Camera, Wedding photo contest with chances to win the Apple watch or an iPad Mini and more!

"To me, great wedding photography should always feel natural, spontaneous, and real – even if it is completely setup and posed. This is the hallmark of a skilled photographer. The image should have a well-balanced composition, show beautiful use of light, elicit strong emotions, and be technically executed to a high level — as appropriate for the subject matter. To make it really stand out, it should be unique, and show imagination and original thought on the part of the photographer. Bottom line though, wedding photography is all about the beauty and emotion of the day, so a winning photograph should give the viewer a peek into that experience, and hopefully move them to tears of joy as well. " - Kevin Kobuta

Congratulations Grand Jury Winner "Plein de tendresses" by slydeshaies

"I love this image for several reasons. First, it absolutely conveys the tender, cherishing love that is so powerful on your wedding day (I know, I’ve been there!). I can truly feel the endearment of the groom as he holds his bride, hands pressed so beautifully and tenderly on her back. The emotion is powerful and real. The lighting is just perfect — natural feeling, and coming at the perfect direction to sculpt their features. It gives mood and dimension to all the elements involved. I love the composition, with perfect framing on the couple and the soft background of adoring family. Normally, we would want to see a little more detail in the shadow areas of the background, but in this case the density helps to reduce distracting details and keep the attention on the love of the couple. This was the image that I wanted to come back to and just sit with, enjoying the love captured in this perfect moment. " - Kevin Kobuta

Congratulations Runner Up "Bride & Groom Dock" by LandonWisePhoto

"This image is a lot of fun! It shows great use of a drone for wedding work. The composition is unique and very interesting. I love the clean lines and use of open space. The relaxed and somewhat quirky posing of the couple is fun and perfectly suited to their wedding attire. The lighting works nicely for the image, although it is rather flat, and could be a little more interesting or dramatic with some direction to it. I think if the couple were a little more engaged with each other, maybe giggling or playfully smiling, it would have been improved. I think I would have taken her shoes off and strewn them down the dock beneath her for a more spontaneous feel, but that’s a stylistic choice. It is really a great image!" - Kevin Kobuta

Congratulations Runner Up "July Wedding." by abilewis

"How can you not laugh when looking at this image!? I love the spontaneity of this capture, and the fact that all the faces you can see are sharing the wonderful moment. The lighting is great, very natural and shaping faces well. You can tell the bride is just squealing with laughter and it perfectly captures what every bride dreams that their day will feel like. The composition could have been improved a little — as the frame cuts the main subject’s forehead in an odd place. I love the feeling of this image!" - Kevin Kobuta

Congratulations Runner Up "Lords and Ladies" by andrewwheeler

"This image is beautifully done, with good technical execution. The composition and framing is very pleasing and dramatic and there is a good balance between the flash and night sky. The couple’s pose is nice and elegant, although it could be a little more playful or spontaneous feeling. I also think it would have been improved with other house lights glowing through the windows, which would have given the home more life and a nice warm/cool contrast with the sky. The main flash could have been warmed up with a gel to make it feel more like the warm light of the interior coming through them. I think the door frame above them is too bright and could have been burnt down a bit in post to avoid drawing attention from the couple. This is a tricky shot to get right and the photographer did a great job!" - Kevin Kobuta
