Today's featured #creativephotocrush Instagram interview is with creative photographer and digital creatorĀ @joshua_griffen, get inspired by our conversation.

VB: Tell us a bit about yourself, how do you describe your photography style?
J: Hey my name is Joshua I'm 22 years old and was born and raised in Darwin Australia. I love doing creative portrait shoots and love playing with colored lights. I feel like my style is constantly changing but I love bright vibrant colors so its a very neon vibes look.

VB: In one sentence what has photography done for you in your life?
J: Photography has given me opportunities Iā€™ve never thought could happen. Such as assisting a photographer ā€œMark Rogersā€ on the new 2021 mortal Kombat Movie set that was filmed in South Australia end of last year.

VB: When did you start taking photos and what inspired you to get started?
J: Iā€™ve been taking photos ever since I got my first iPhone in 2014 and then finally getting my first DSLR in 2017. What inspired me to start was where I used to work, at a creative production company for 3 1/2 as an apprentice. There I did a cert 4 in digital media and learned a lot about cameras and the Adobe software. I mainly did video & editing when working there but I notice I enjoyed doing event photography and portraits the most. I decided it was time to leave the end of 2018, but I kept on taking pictures and did my first freelance job start in 2019 and went from there!

VB: What do you carry in your camera bag?
J: Iā€™ve been taking photos ever since I got my first iPhone in 2014 and then finally getting my first DSLR in 2017. VB: Do you have a favorite location to shoot?
J: My favorite location is when Iā€™m traveling to a large city would be the city at sunset/night. I live in a small town and our city isnā€™t my favorite so when I'm home in Darwin I would much rather just make my scene and shoot in my studio.

VB: Can you share one tip that has helped you with your photography?
J: If you ever need to learn anything there are heaps of free tutorials on YouTube that I would recommend to watch. But the best way to learn is to just go out and shoot, always experiment with different angles and even the time of day to see what works best for you.
