Matt combines his background in graphic design, his love for photography, and his passion for sports to create unique and artistic athlete portraits and composites. Recently named The Paducah Sun'sReaders' Choice for Best Photographer in his area, he has established a solid local business, and is branching out to other areas. "This obviously has some photoshop going on in it, but I love what the artist did with turning a sweet, innocent child into something very creepy and sinister in his reflection in the mirror. It takes this photo from a simple image with a reflection to a real piece of art that makes the viewer think about what’s going on in the image. "Not only did the artist create depth with multiple reflections, but the eyes of the model looking upward allow the viewer to look deep into the mirror as the reflections disappear into the vanishing point. The eyes of a portrait are typically what an artist wants the focus of an image to be, and the model’s line of site is perfectly executed here to allow the viewer to move nicely over the reflections. Also, while the lights around the mirror appear to all be the same size and brightness, the slight distortion created by using a wider angle lens make the two lights above the focus area bigger and brighter, which draws the viewer’s eyes right to the main area of the image." - Matt Hernandez
