Usually, I’m seeing a full gradation from the light to work, varying tones of gray through the frame. "I like how the photographer uses negative space here and especially the middle grays that area up. Usually a black and white photographs are focused so much on the extreme ends of the tonal range, but here the more neutral grays helps to serve as a strong counter point to the darker and lighter elements in the shot. I also like the interplay between the foreground and background elements in the frame that’s created as a result of the effective use of negative space." - Ibarionex Perello

"This is a wonderful composition, which uses the graphic lines of the scene just as effectively as the tonality to help guide the eye throughout the frame. I like how the photographer carefully rendered the b&w treatment in the image and even retained a bright counterpoint in the far right to balance that of the waterfall on the left.
