Not often we get to see such an extreme instant captured so clearly. A short conversation withย williamgilson about the techniques and story behind this awarded photo:

1. Where did you take this photo?

This photo was taken at the practice day Lethbridge international Airshow July 2010.

2. What time of day?

Mid day

3. Anything worth sharing about lighting?

Due to the position, there was quite a backlite but no way to avoid.

4. What equipment did you use?

This photo was shot with my backup Canon 30D, I was not even near ready as it was a practice flight.

5. What inspired you to take this photo?

Practice. This shot is proof that you should be ready for anything when you have your camera with you.

6. Did you do any post-processing? If yes, tell us about it!

Only processing was to remove spots on the photo.

7. What equipment do you normally have in your bag?

I now carry 2x 7d my trust 50-500 Sigma and a whole list of lenses.

8. Any advice for others trying to capture something similar?

Be prepared at all times you never know what you will see through the lens. Photography is your lens on the world share enjoy and shoot a lot.
