I took this photo at Notely Fern Gorge. Notley Fern Gorge is a remnant patch of rainforest above the Tamar Valley located in Northern Tasmania - Australia

The photo was taken on a very cool winter's afternoon at 4.30pm.

3. Anything worth sharing about lighting?

The late afternoon natural light was just perfect for this shot.

Handheld shot, no flash

5. What inspired you to take this photo?

I love macro photography, and I am always googling awe inspiring images.
I also love exploring in the great outdoors, looking for nature's little wonders to photograph.

The photo has had only minor adjustments...brightness/contrast/colour/sharpness...using photoshop elements 10

8. Any advice for others trying to capture something similar?

Shoot in manual mode, look for great natural lighting, be prepared to get down on your hands and knees and get dirty!
