This is unbelievable! I have never actually seen a snowflake photo. I haven't seen may snowflakes either since I live in Florida. Good job.

Location
This is what I call a "happy accident." This is no more than broken blacktop with a macro lens.Time
Mid afternoon.Lighting
This image was shot with available light. No flash.Equipment
Nikon D300, handheld, with a Nikon 105 macro.Inspiration
I love the mystery of snowflakes. The contrast between black and white, hard and soft, and of course snowflakes only last a few seconds.Editing
The image is only slightly sharpened. In my camera bag
All nikon. 105mm plus a 300mm zoom.Feedback
Patience is the key. Brace yourself against a wall, tree, or something stationary if not using a tripod. Don't give up. I've probably shot 1000 snowflakes!
