Love this, the Church of the Good Shepherd, been inside a couple of times, first saw it in 1970 as a young photographer from Sydney. Love visiting your country, overdue for a return visit, have a buddy shooter living in Auckland.

This is a very much photographed building so it presents the photographer with a difficult task of trying to get a personal take to such a familiar subject. The light helped, it changed constantly giving the background a necessary lift, helping the overall mood of the image. The wide take of the historic church, mountains, snow and peculiar tonal range molded into a rustic country landscape with a touch of enigma.Editing
Once stitched, it was almost good to go. It needed some minor light corrections and noise reduction. In my camera bag

Try different angles, especially if facing familiar subjects. The alternative is waiting for unusual lighting conditions, but this may not always be practical. A successful image needs more than our technical expertise - it needs a personal touch, our emotional input and a point of difference.
