In downtown Birmingham, Alabama we have one of the last old movie palaces with an original pipe organ. It is quite a grand old dame and she saw some illustrious premiers in her day. She is very art deco. Birmingham has contributed to the arts and entertainment world more than people would realize. Part of the proof is in front of the Alabama Theater where there is the "Walk of Stars". Recently we lost one of those stars, Harper Lee, author of "To Kill a Mockingbird". Here is Harper's star in front of the Alabama.

Harper's star is on the sidewalk in front of the Alabama Theater in Birmingham. Not long after she pass away I was going through my photos and noticed the pattern across her star. It reminded me of a shooting star. I thought it was a fitting tribute.
