Breathtaking in its beauty. The composition really makes this, and the hair is stunning.

I love the image, but my eyes are not good enough; what book is in this photo?

Location
This photo is a composite. The image of the lady was taken outside, around sunset in a grassy lot. The book and the flowers were shot later the next day in my front yard! The I composited them all together in Photoshop.Time
The image of the lady was taken around sunset. The sun was pretty close to the horizon and light was very golden colored. The images of the flowers and the book were shot in early the morning close to sunrise.Lighting
Since this is a composited image shot in natural light I tired to keep the direction and color of the light as much the same as I could when shooting each separate image. By doing so all the different pieces of the image could be composited together seamlessly.Equipment
I used my Canon 5d Mark iii camera with the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens.Inspiration
My model has the most gorgeous red hair! I thought it would look lovely all fanned out behind her in the grass. After I shot the image of her I thought she looked like she was daydreaming after reading a good book and the idea for the piece took off from there!Editing
Oh yes! This image is composited together from about 6 different images. After I got the pieces of the composite in place I went about blending them and create a mood in photoshop. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 5d Mark iii camera body, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 II lens, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 II lens, Canon 50mm f/1.4, 430ex ii flash, Canon 580ex ii flash and Gary Fong Half cloud flash diffuser. I find that pretty much prepares me for most images I'd like to take when out and about. I have a few other lenses and equipment that usually stay at home but those are the basics that stay in my bag.Feedback
When shooting a person laying down from above try to stay up around their head. This way you won't be shooting up their nose! That's not flattering for anyone! When shooting different parts for a composite try and keep your lighting as consistent as possible over all of your shots. This will help tremendously when you go to piece it all together in Photoshop.
